Tropical Layout

So, I was looking for a particular photo recently and surprise, surprise, couldn’t find it! It was one I’ve been wanting to do a scrapbook page with. I have a lot of those. Please tell me I’m not the only one? But, I did come across another one that I had totally forgot I had and thought it would be great for a tropical themed layout project. And, of course, I have some lovely card stock from CutCardStock that will work great!

For this project i am using: DCS Discount Card Stock: Aqua Card StockBasis 8.5×11 GOLD 80lb CardstockMirriSparkle Gold Glitter 16 pt 8.5×11 Card Stock.

The patterned paper is digital from Design Lover Studio and was printed on Classic Crest NATURAL WHITE 8.5×11 CardStock.

The Aqua is used for the base. I matted the Mirrisparkle Gold Glitter with the Basis Gold.

My flower embellishments were all fussy cut from the patterned papers. I die cut my title with Sizzix dies and cut a few strips of card stock to use.

The large flower piece above was cut from the piece used below, not to waste! And my photo fits over it perfectly.

I added one of the patterned papers to the base along with a strip of the Aqua card stock. My photo was matted with Basis Gold. Another strip of Aqua place beneath.

Title pieces and the large flower embellishment were added.

I finished by adding 2 overlapping strips of patterned paper, a very narrow strip of Mirrisparkle Gold and 5 fussy cut flower as a border along the bottom. Glitter dots were added to the flowers for a little extra sparkle!

I hope you have enjoyed checking out my layout. Don’t forget to connect with us over on the CutCardStock Facebook Page.

Altered Notebook

Hey there! Today I'm sharing an altered notebook project created with some beautiful card stocks from CutCardStock

An altered notebook makes a great gift for someone who loves to journal. You can create one with any theme and colors that fit the personality of the gift recipient.

Start with an inexpensive composition book and a focal. This composition book measures 9 3/4 x 7 1/2 inches.

I found the composition book at WalMart for $0.50. My focal image is from Lana Green Art and is called Daisy Daisy. I colored her with Castle Arts Soft Touch and PastelTint Pencils before fussy cutting.

The front and back covers of the notebook are covered with Stardream Metallic GOLD 105 lb Cardstock. I adhered, butting the card stock up against the black binding, with strong double sided tape.

To enhance my colored image I chose a Create-A-Card die from Crafter’s Companion and cut from the Stardream Metallic GOLD 105 lb Cardstock.
Using a Penny Black daisy stamp, I stamped 3 times on Classic Crest Natural White 8.5×11 CardStock. The images were colored with Castle Arts PastelTint Pencils and fussy cut.

I cut a piece of Pop Tone TANGY ORANGE 8.5×11 Discount Card Stock 9 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches. The top and bottom edges were die cut with a Crafter’s Companion border die.

I decided to use a “believe” title and cut with a Crafter’s Companion word die from Stardream Metallic GOLD 105 lb Cardstock.

With all the components die cut, stamped, colored and fussy cut, it is time to add to the front cover.

I adhered the Tangy Orange piece first to the center. A piece of the Classic Crest Natural card was cut to 5 3/4 x 6 3/4 and layered on top of the orange piece.

The gold create-a-card die cut piece was added next with the focal image. I adhered the “believe” die cut to the bottom.

To finish I added a strip of gold card stock between the bottom edge of natural card and the “believe” die cut. My fussy cut daisies were adhered and pink pearls added to embellish.

I hope you have enjoyed my project! We would love for you to connect with us over on the CutCardStock Facebook Page.
