DIY Ornaments
Do you like DIY projects that are really fun to put together and don’t take that much time? Well if that’s the case then I’ve got some ideas for you today! I love making ornaments!
The 3 projects I’m sharing today all use the same base, which is store bought, with a variety of die cuts to embellish. My die cuts were cut from card stocks in the traditional Christmas colors of red, white and green, which are on special this month at CutCardStock!
I’m using round MDF picture frame ornaments as my base and decided to make 2 of the ornaments shakers. This was pretty easy to do as these frames have an acrylic, which I glued to the inside front. The large star glitter was added. I die cut a piece of card stock and glued to the back of the frame. It’s ready to decorate.
For the first ornament I used: STARDREAM METALLIC JUPITER (RED) 105LB 8.5 X 11 CARD STOCKSILK GLITTER RED FLASH DISCOUNT CARD STOCK BASIS WHITE 80LB CARDSTOCK BASIS 8.5X11 WHITE 110LB CARDSTOCK BASIS 8.5X11 OLIVE 80LB CARDSTOCK BASIS 8.5X11 GREEN 80LB CARDSTOCK DCS DISCOUNT CARD STOCK: CANVAS TEXTURED GINGER SNAP CARD STOCK
The stardream metallic card was used for the back and front of the frame, as seen above. I die cut a gingerbread man, berries, pine fronds and a sentiment.
Pieces of red, green and white scraps were glued to the back of the gingerbread man. I started adding the die cuts.
The pine fronds and berries were added to the left side of the frame. A bow was added to finish.Die cutting was done.
The “Peace” die cut was adhered to the opulent opal circle die cut and added inside the frame. The other die cuts are layered and glued to the frame front. I added a bow and red pearls.
The third project is another shaker put together in the same way as the first. I used: STARDREAM METALLIC JUPITER (RED) 105LB 8.5 X 11 CARD STOCK BASIS 8.5X11 WHITE 110LB CARDSTOCK SILK GLITTER OPULENT OPAL 12X12 CARD STOCK BASIS 8.5X11 GREEN 80LB CARDSTOCK POP TONE SNO CONE 8.5X11 DISCOUNT CARD STOCK
I die cut a snowflake, snowman and sentiment.
All the pieces were adhered to the frame front with a bow to finish.

Holiday Shadowbox
Hey there!
I used a variety of card stocks from CutCardStock for my project. Their Monthly Specials for November are Red, Green and White Card Stocks which are perfect for the holidays!
So gather some card stock, inks, dies, embellishments, etc and of course a shadowbox and give it a try for yourself!
Card Stocks I am using:
ROYAL SUNDANCE FELT BRILLIANT WHITE 8.5X11 CARD STOCK
BASIS 8.5X11 WHITE 110LB CARDSTOCK
SILK GLITTER OPULENT OPAL 12X12 CARD STOCK
Keeping in mind that I wanted to use red, green and white card stocks, I did all of my die cutting as seen in the first photo below.
The second photo shows how I did some layering of the sleigh, trees and presents. Pieces of gold card stock were added to the back of the building die cuts. I colored the reindeer's antlers and hooves with a marker. A sentiment die cut was added.
The Royal Sundance Card Stock was cut to 8 x 8 inches. I watercolored the top half with Sparkle Pens to create a night sky.
For the bottom half I cut down a piece of the Silk Glitter Card Stock for a snow effect. I hand cut the top of this piece to create hills.
The Glitter card was adhered to the base. I pulled in the die cuts to start arranging my scene.
I cut a small piece of red metallic card stock to fashion a harness for the reindeer and added gold twine as the reins.
