Keep on Chuggin'

“Keep on chuggin’, you got this” is a piece of advice we’ve all needed to hear at some point. Am I right? And a fun card with those words is a great way to let someone that needs to hear this know that you have faith in them and they should too.

Hey, it’s Judy V here with an inspirational card project for Pajama Crafter Stamps.

My inspiration for this card comes from Episode #273 of Craft Roulette. The 4 parameters given to use:

I am using 3 stamp sets.

Chuggin’ On Stamps – the girl image from the set makes for a Lady Card & she’s wearing a belt.

Happy Camper Stamps – using the tent image along with some hand cut hills and stenciled grass covers the Camp aspect.

Sliding By Stamps – the tree image stamp adds to the whole camping vibe.

I meet the color aspect by coloring the images using a Crispy M & M package for inspiration.

My coloring is done with Prismacolor pencils. I fussy cut. Inking the edges of my hand cut hills adds some dimension. I add clouds with a stencil. The sentiment is a stamp from the Chugging’ On Stamps.

Although a little challenging using the above parameters I am quite happy with the outcome of my Keeo on Chugging’ card project!

Thanks for checking out my card.  I hope you take some inspiration from it!

Cute Bear Advent Banner

Ok, I know today is the 4th of July and I should be sharing a patriotic project, but it’smtime to get a head start on holiday crafting!

Hi there! Today I'm sharing an advent banner project using a new product from Clear Scraps.

This is the Interchangeable Banner Advent Set. Included are 4-wood pennant shaped banners total, approx. size 4.0”x5.75”. 2 of the 4 wood banners come with ring to hold interchangeable discs. Use removeable glue dot to hold disc in place. Use wood glue to adhere the ring to wood banners with hole for the interchangeable disc placement. Also included in kit will be extra disc for each number. Total of 12 wood disc. 1- 5x8 chipboard number punch out set.

I decided to use digital papers and embellishments for my banner and found a cute scrapbook set on Etsy that included traditional red and green papers and cute bears for embellishment.

The first thing I did was print the papers I chose to use and traced the 2 solid banners onto the backside. I’ll be adding 2 papers on these, so I traced 1/2 of the banners on each paper. Cut papers.

Paint the edges of all 4 banner pieces with green acrylic paint.

Trace the banners with holes onto the backside of pattern paper. I also cut a rectangle piece of coordinating paper to go over the center. Cut papers.

Adhere papers to front of banners.

Paint the discs white, the 2 rings red and the chipboard numbers red.

Adhere the numbers to the discs.

Glue the rings to the banners with holes. I inserted number discs and added Happy Holiday die cuts in my photo below.

Add embellishments to the other 2 banner pieces.

Tie the banner together red ribbon and add numbered discs.

Thanks for taking a look at my Cute Bears Advent Banner project.

Yankee Doodle Day Card

Hey there! Judy V here sharing a Yankee Doodle Day card created for Pajama Crafter Stamps.

My project starts by stamping 3 of the cute animals from Yankee Doodle Day Stamps. I color with Prismacolor pencils and fussy cut.

A piece of white card stock is cut to 4 x 5 1/4 inches for the background. Stamp the fireworks stamp 3 from the set 3 times with Versamark and heat emboss with a blue glitter embossing powder.

Die cut the letters USA with red card stock. Arrange them in the center of the white background. I add a strip of blue glitter card stock underneath the letters. Adhere the animals next to the letters.

A piece of blue glitter card stock is cut to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches. Adhere to a card base. Center the white piece onto the card.

Stamp the sentiment and cut with a label die. Attach a handcut banner strip out of blue glitter card stock to the top center of the card. Add the sentiment die cut on top to complete the card design.

Have a Happy 4th of July!

Patriotic Wreath

Do you like creating home decor projects? if so, now is the perfect time to make a Patriotic Wreath that is fairly simple and easily made with minimal materials. Hey there! It’s Judy here with my latest project for CutCardStock.

Cardstock & Wreath Form

For this Patriotic Wreath I am using, of course, red, white and blue cardstock.

DCS Discount Cardstock: Smooth Red Wagon

Cougar White Smooth CardStock

Lessebo Colors NAVY BLUE Cardstock

To start you’ll want to make a wreath form. I am using a piece of cardboard. Find something round you can trace onto the cardboard for the outside edge. I used a plate. You’ll need a smaller circle shape to trace for the inside edge. A smaller plate works. Cut both circles.

My wreath form measures about 10 inches on the outside. The inner circle opening measures about 7 inches. You can go larger or smaller.

Wreath Components

Cut the cardstock into strips measuring 8 x 1 3/4 inches. I cut 6 blue, 8 red and 9 white pieces. You may cut more or less depending on the size of your wreath form.

Score each cardstock strip every 1/2 inch along the 8 inch side.

Accordion fold each strip along the score lines.

Start adding the accordion fold strips to the wreath form. Hold one end of the folds together and apply glue to the backside. A low temp glue gun works well for this. Adhere the end with the glue across the width the the wreath and fan out the top, as seen in the photo below.

Add all the blue pieces by overlapping about 3/4 of an inch. I alternate the white and red strips adhering in the same fashion all the way around. The last piece is a little tricky. Just tuck the end with glue into the first blue piece.

To embellish I die cut various size stars.

Start adhering the stars randomly.

Add the rest of the stars to complete. I did punch a few more small stars to add.

Thanks so much for taking a look at my Patriotic Wreath project. But, this wreath is not really limited to the patriotic theme. You can use my idea to create a wreath for any occasion, season or holiday and I hope you’ll give it a try!
