Halloween Shaker Wands

 

Hi there! It’s Judy here with a super fun project created for Clear Scraps, Halloween Shaker Wands. These would make cute decorations and/or party favors and, of course, can be adapted for any holiday or theme.

3 mini shakers are used for this project, Mini Shaker Witch Hat, Mini Shaker Candy Corn, and Mini Shaker Circle Ghosts.

 

These shaker Include 1-chip back, 3 chip forms, 1 acrylic divider (must remove protective film).

 

I started by creating 3 rosettes.

 

Cut 3 strips of patterned paper for each measuring 2 x 12 inches.

Score each strip every 1/2 inch along the 12 inch side.

Adhere 3 strips end to end to form a circle for each rosette.

Die cut 2 small circle for each.

Flatten the circles, squeeze together and add glue to the center.

Apply a circle die cut to the center on both sides of each rosette piece. This holds the rosettes together.

Next I die cut 3 scalloped circles.

The rosettes were adhered to the die cuts.

I painted 3, 1/8 inch dowels black for the wand handles.

When the dowels are dry, glue them to the rosette pieces between the between the rosette and the circle die cut.

 

Put the shakers together.

Start by covering the solid back piece of each with card stock. I did this by tracing the shaker shape on the card stock, cutting out and adhering.

Add 2 of the chipboard forms next and then add the shaker bits. I used sequins and chunky glitter.

The third chipboard form was colored with a black sparkle pen.

Adhere the clear acrylic pieces to the back of the colored forms.

Be sure to remove the protective  covering from both sides.

Glue this piece to the other part of the shaker.

Adhere the shakers to the rosettes.

Add embellishments. I had some cute Halloween die cuts in my stash

 

Finish by adding ribbons to the wands.
