Materials
5 x7 Burgundy Basis Card, Burgundy Basis Card Stock, Cougar Natural Card Stock, Gold Bright Foil 10 pt Card Stock
Acetate, Saxophone Die, Banner Dies, Celebrate Sentiment Die, Double Sided Tape, Foam Tape, Glue, Chunky Star Glitter, Music Note Punch
Card Base
Start by cutting mat and background card stock pieces.
The burgundy card measures 5 x 7 inches. Cut a piece of the gold foil card stock to 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches. A piece of the natural card stock measures 4 3/8 x 6 3/8 inches. I also cut nine 1/4 inch pieces of the gold foil. These are for creating stripes for the background.
Die Cutting
Combine two sizes of banner dies to create a 1/2 inch width frame and cut out of burgundy card stock. Do the same to make a thinner gold frame. These pieces will form the shaker element for the card.
Die cut the saxophone.
A full size banner is cut out of natural card stock as the backing of the shaker piece. Adhere a gold “celebrate” sentiment. Add a piece of acetate to the backside of the 1/2 inch wide banner frame and add the thinner gold frame to the front.
Finishing
To put the shaker piece together, add two layers of foam tape to the backside of the frame piece and fill with the chunky star glitter. Place the solid natural colored banner onto the back to close. Add the shaker piece to the card.
