Glamorous Birthday Wishes: A Pink & Gold Fashionista Handmade Card

There’s something extra special about creating a card that 

feels as glamorous as the person receiving it! 

This pink and gold birthday card combines elegant textures, sparkle, and a beautifully colored fashionista image to create a show-stopping handmade birthday greeting.

The focal point of this card is the Julie Nutting Doll Lorena, in her fabulous pink gown.  

Her dress is colored in vibrant shades of pink using the pointillism technique, 

giving the gown the look of a glamorous sequined evening dress. 

A coordinating “Happy Birthday” sentiment adds the perfect finishing touch.

Creating the Card

I started with a rich pink A9 card base, which provides the perfect backdrop for 

all the sparkle and glamour. A layer of gold glitter cardstock was added next, 

creating a luxurious border around the white focal panel.

For the center panel, I used white cardstock and added an elegant floral/scroll embossed texture. Keeping the background primarily white allows the colorful image and 

sentiment to really stand out while the subtle embossing adds beautiful dimension.

The Fashionista Focal Point

The fashionista image was stamped and colored with markers using 

a combination of soft skin tones, golden blond hair, and several shades of pink.

Her dress is the star of the show! 

The contrast between the lighter pink bodice and the deep, 

vibrant pink skirt helps emphasize the flowing folds of the gown.

Adding the Sentiment

The “Happy Birthday” sentiment was die cut from coordinating pink cardstock and positioned to the right of the fashionista. The script-style lettering complements the elegant theme of the card while the darker pink provides enough contrast against the white background to make the greeting easy to read.

To finish the design, I scattered a few pink sequins/confetti pieces across the embossed background. 

These little touches of sparkle tie the entire card together without overwhelming the focal image.

A Little More Sparkle!

The combination of hot pink, soft pink, white, and gold gives this card a glamorous yet feminine feel. 

The glitter cardstock, sparkling dress, embossed background, and scattered embellishments all 

work together to create lots of texture and visual interest.

This design would be perfect for celebrating a milestone birthday, a fashion-loving friend, 

or anyone who deserves a little extra glamour on their special day!
