Cherish Card

Today I’m sharing a delicate and dreamy handmade card featuring Summer Bride from Conie Fong Art & Design. I was inspired to keep everything soft and elegant to complement the graceful bride illustration and flowing details.

Design Inspiration

The image itself has such a gentle, romantic vibe—with the flowing hair, floral crown, and bouquet—that I wanted the rest of the card to enhance, not overpower it. I chose a monochromatic blue palette to give the card a serene and timeless feel, while letting the florals in the image add that perfect pop of color.

How It Came Together

I started by printing the image onto smooth cardstock and coloring it with Prismacolor Pencils. I focused on soft blending in the dress and added dimension to the hair with layered tones. The flowers were finished with brighter shades to draw the eye.

Next, I created a layered panel using pearl white cardstock and added a beautifully detailed blue die-cut frame to highlight the image. The frame adds depth and elegance without taking attention away from the focal point.

To bring in a bit of softness and texture, I wrapped seam binding around the panel and tied a bow on the left side, finishing it with a small gem for a touch of sparkle.

Finally, I added the “Cherish” die cut sentiment at the bottom in matching blue cardstock to tie the entire design together.

Finishing Touches

Mounting everything onto a coordinating blue card base completed the look. The result is a soft, romantic card that would be perfect for a wedding, anniversary, or simply to celebrate someone special.

Final Thoughts

I love how this card turned out—elegant, calming, and full of charm. Conie Fong’s images always make it easy to create something truly special!
