Gift Card Holder

Hey there! Do you ever give gift cards for gifts? Today I’m sharing what I call a tag gift card holder. I used a couple of Stardream Metallic Card Stocks from CutCardStock. They are the Monthly Specials for this month.

The base is made with a piece of STARDREAM METALLIC SAPPHIRE (BLUE) 105LB 8.5 X 11 CARD STOCK cut to 4 1/4 x 9 inches. Score at 5 1/2 inches along the 9 inch side. Cut a piece of patterned paper to 4 x 5 1/4 inches and a coordinating pattern paper to 4 x 3 1/4 inches. I rounded the corners of the top of the base and the larger patterned paper piece.

Adhere the patterned papers as seen on the photo below. Fold the shorter end of the base up and adhere along the sides to form a pocket.

Cut a tag measuring 4 3/4 x 3 1/2 inches. Using a patterned paper cut a piece to 3 1/2 x 2 inches and adhere along the bottom and sides of the tag. This forms a pocket to hold the gift card. I rounded the corners of the bottom. Add a piece of ribbon to the top of the tag.

Now that the base and tag are done, it’s time to decorate!

I die cut a cute penguin and snowflakes using: BASIS BLACK 80LB CARDSTOCKBASIS WHITE 80LB CARDSTOCKSTARDREAM METALLIC SPARKLY BRIGHT WHITE PLUTO 8.5 X 11 CARD STOCKSTARDREAM METALLIC JUPITER (RED) 105LB 8.5 X 11 CARD STOCK

The penguins beak and feet were cut with the basis white card and colored with a marker.

I die cut a sentiment out of the Sapphire card. The snow banks were created with the Pluto card by hand cutting.

Place your gift card into the pocket of the tag and insert tag into the card base.

The overall measurements are 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and fit nicely into an A2 envelope.

I hope you like my gift card holder and give it a try. It is easy to adapt and create for any theme and/or occasion.
