Cut Card Base Pieces
Create 3 top folding navy card bases in 3 descending sizes.
Score and mountain fold the front of each card base in half horizontally.
Cut layering panels for each card front. A navy stripe pattern paper from the Let’s Play Ball Paper Pack is cut for the largest and smallest cards. White card stock is cut for the middle card.
Emboss the white panel with an embossing folder. Add gilding wax to the raised areas.
Adhere the layering panels to the front, bottom half of each card base.
Starting with the largest card, adhere the back of the middle size card to the middle of the inside. Add the the smallest card to the middle card in the same manner. This forms the triple base. It helps to adhere with foam tape to hold the “easels” in place.
Create the Layering Elements
Stamp the grad hats and diploma from the Hat’s Off Stamp set. Color with alcohol markers and glitter gel pens. Fussy cut.
Stamp the “you can do amazing things“, “Congrats Grad” and “Hat’s off to You!” sentiments from the stamp set with watermark ink onto navy cardstock. Heat emboss with white embossing powder. Die cut into desired shapes. Also die cut pieces to layer sentiments onto with white and silver cardstock.
Die cut “WHOA” from the Dang, Whoa Yikes! Word and Shadow Dies. The word is cut with silver and white cardstock. Cut the shadow with navy cardstock. Layer the “WHOA” with the silver behind the white, slightly offset. Adhere to the shadow.
Layering Large Easel Panel
Adhere a white die cut panel to the top panel. A silver die cut banner goes on over the white panel. Add the “you can do amazing things” sentiment with foam tape.
The “WHOA” sentiment goes on next at the top. Add the larger grad hat to the top left corner of the sentiment.
Middle Panel Layering
Layer the “Congrats Grad!” sentiment onto a silver, oval die cut. Add to the center of the middle panel.
Small panel
- Create a small scene using the small cap and diploma.
- Use an oval die cut for framing.
- Adhere to the stripe pattern paper.
Add the Stopper
Attach the “Hats Off to You!” sentiment on a small white label shape to the base of the card with foam tape. This acts as the stopper for the final easel panel.
Finished Card
When opened, each tier stands up beautifully, showcasing layered sentiments and graduation elements. When closed, the card folds flat—perfect for mailing!
This triple easel design is a fun way to showcase multiple stamps and dies while creating a memorable keepsake for your grad. Swap colors to match school themes or personalize with a name for an extra special touch!
