Paper Pieced Music Card

There’s something so timeless about a music-themed card—especially when you pair it with bold cardstock and clean paper piecing! Judy here today and I’m sharing this birthday card featuring a stylish musician, golden notes, and a classic acoustic guitar—all created with beautiful cardstock from CutCardStock.

Supplies Used

Create the Card Base

This is a large A9 size card. Score and fold an 8 1/2 x 11 inch piece of Lessebo Misty Blue Cardstock at 5 1/2 inches along the 11 inch size.

Cut a piece Basis Blue Cardstock measuring 5 1/4 x 8 1/4 inches for a mat.

A piece of Cougar White Smooth CardStock is cut to 5 1/8 x 8 1/8 for the background.

Building the Male Figure

Stamp the full male figure on DCS Smooth Sand Castle Tan Cardstock. To paper piece the image, stamp hair and clothing in different colors.

Fussy cut the stamped pieces.

Assemble

Die Cut Music Elements & Guitar

Cut the music staff with Pop Tone Black Licorice Cardstock, music notes with Bright Foil Gold 10 pt Cardstock.

Guitar pieces are cut with DCS Smooth Sand Castle Tan Cardstock

Pop Tone Hot Fudge Cardstock

DCS Canvas Textured Ginger Snap Cardstock

Bright Foil Gold 10 pt Cardstock

Assemble the guitar.

Complete the Card

Adhere the music staff to the white background panel, trimming the edges.

Add the white panel to the blue mat.

Apply to the card base.

Adhere the male figure and guitar to the card. I did take an extra step to create a guitar stand with black cardstock.

Finish up by adding the music elements and a die cut sentiment.
