Easy Fun Fold Card

Do you like creating easy fun fold cards? I do and I'm always looking for new card designs to try.
So, when perusing Pinterest the other day, I saw a "buckle fold" card
by Kate Deignan and wanted to give it a try.

This really is a very easy card to make and comes together quickly.

Card Stock

I am using

Pop Tone BLACK LICORICE 8.5x11 Discount Card Stock

Bazzill Canvas Texture 8.5x11 Monochromatic Peach (Hopi) 80lb Cardstock

DCS Textured Pearl Hummingbird Teal 8.5x11 Discount Card Stock

Cougar White Smooth CardStock 8.5x11

Chalkboard Prints 6x6 Card Stock pad - Assortment

Fun Fold Card Base

Start by making the card base with a 6 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch piece of the Pop Tone BLACK LICORICE Card Stock. Score at 2 1/4 inches along the 6 1/2 inch side.

Cut a 2 x 5 1/2 inch piece from the same card stock and score at 2 1/4 inches along the 5 1/2 inch side. This piece is the "belt".

Adhere the "belt" piece to the center of the base with the fold on the right side as in the photo below.

Cut 3 panels from the Chalkboard Prints measuring 2 x 5 1/4 inches. A piece of Cougar White Smooth CardStock is cut to 4 x 5 1/4 inches.

Adhere the white panel to the right side of the card base.

Buckle Piece

To create the buckle, die cut 2 pieces of Pop Tone BLACK LICORICE Card Stock. Any shape die cut will work! I am using a Spellbinders die.

Adhere the pattern paper panels to the card. See photos for placement.

Embellishing the Buckle

All that's left is to embellish the buckle.

I am die cutting flowers, foliage and a sentiment for the front using Bazzill Canvas Texture Peach Cardstock and DCS Textured Pearl Hummingbird Teal Card Stock. A piece of the peach cardstock is die cut for the backside of the buckle piece.

Adhere the peach buckle die cut piece after adding some stamping.

Add the floral, foliage and sentiment die cuts to front of buckle.

Adding a few sequins to the buckle piece complete my design.

I like the way my fun fold card turned out and hope you do too!

  1. Fabulous card! The contrast between the black and bright colors is so dramatic. The peach and teal die cut flower really pops against the black. That buckle closure is great! Thanks for sharing with the June Challenge at A Cut Above.
