Music Theme Layout

Judy here sharing my latest project for CutCardStock which is a Music Theme Layout. 

Music is an important part of my life as a former music teacher and musician. If not for music, the opportunity to meet my husband, who is the subject of this layout, would've not been possible.

Layout Base

Start this layout by pulling out 12 x 12 inch pieces of DCS Discount Black Card Stock and Cougar WHITE Card Stock. I print a photo at 4 x 6 inches.

I will be using the white card stock as the background for the layout. Trim the card stock down to 11 3/4 x 11 3/4 inches.

Wanting to add a little something, I randomly add some stenciling with gray ink and Journalling Stencils - Set #3.

Adhere the white card stock to a 12 x 12 piece of the black card stock.

Creating and Adding Elements

To create a border for the lower edge of the layout I stencil a music staff onto DCS Discount Black Card Stock with white ink.

Fussy cut the music staff.

Cut 2, 3/4 x 8 1/2 inch pieces of Lessebo DAWN MAROON Cardstock. Attach horizonally to the lower portion of the layout base.

Add the fussy cut music staff to the layout base over the red strips.

I'm adding a large quote to the layout which is a Silhouette cut file. It is cut twice, once with DCS Discount Black Card Stock and once with Lessebo DAWN MAROON Cardstock.

Adhere the cut outs. It's hard to tell in the photo that I layer some of the red and black letters as to add shadowing.

Add 3 red strips vertically to the right side of the layout.

To complete my Music Theme Layout I add the photo. 3 red hearts left over from the cut files embellish the music staff.
