 Hey there!
Sharing my Beautiful Bride Canvas Wall Art project for CutCardStock.

I love to color and, pretty, female, portrait style digital stamps are my favorites. So, looking through my images I came across one from Digital Morning called “Tenderness”. This beautiful greyscale bride image also contains pretty flowers. I knew I had to color her up and make flowers out of card stock for some dimension to create a unique canvas.

Focal Image

I start by printing the image on a 8 1/2 x 11 inch piece of Cougar White Smooth Card Stock.

Color the image. My favorite coloring medium are Prismacolor Pencils.

There is a veil in the image. I decide to trace it onto a piece of CTI Glama Natural Translucent Vellum using a white pencil color. This is an alternative to coloring the veil.

Once I finish the coloring I fussy cut the image. Even though I will cover the flowers I go ahead and color them just in case they peek through!

Next, although I will be using a white canvas I decide to add a little color underneath the image. This is done by adhering a piece of Coral Stardream Metallic Card Stock.

Then I decide to tear a border around the image. This also provides a little texture.

Prepare the Canvas

My canvas measures 9 x 12 inches. Wanting some texture, I adhere crumpled tissue paper to the canvas with decoupage medium. Then I paint with white acrylic paint.

Adhere the image to the center of the canvas.

Add the vellum veil piece. I am gluing the vellum in areas where flowers will cover.

White pearls enhance the image.

Make the Flowers

I die cut 3 different sizes of 5 petal flowers with Lessebo Blossom Pink Card Stock to form my roses. Cutting between each petal of each die cut helps with shaping and forming the roses.

Roll and glue the smallest die cuts for the rose centers. Adding a layer at a time and going up in size makes it easy to vary each rose and make them look more realistic.

Add the roses to the canvas, covering those on the image.

Die cut and shape the smaller flowers. I am using Lessebo Bubble Gum Pink Card Stock and Cougar Smooth White Card Stock. The flowers are layered. Add pearls to the centers.

Complete the project by adding these last flowers.
