I love to color and, pretty, female, portrait style digital stamps are my favorites. So, looking through my images I came across one from Digital Morning called “Tenderness”. This beautiful greyscale bride image also contains pretty flowers. I knew I had to color her up and make flowers out of card stock for some dimension to create a unique canvas.
Focal Image
I start by printing the image on a 8 1/2 x 11 inch piece of Cougar White Smooth Card Stock.
Color the image. My favorite coloring medium are Prismacolor Pencils.
Next, although I will be using a white canvas I decide to add a little color underneath the image. This is done by adhering a piece of Coral Stardream Metallic Card Stock.
Prepare the Canvas
My canvas measures 9 x 12 inches. Wanting some texture, I adhere crumpled tissue paper to the canvas with decoupage medium. Then I paint with white acrylic paint.
Make the Flowers
I die cut 3 different sizes of 5 petal flowers with Lessebo Blossom Pink Card Stock to form my roses. Cutting between each petal of each die cut helps with shaping and forming the roses.
Roll and glue the smallest die cuts for the rose centers. Adding a layer at a time and going up in size makes it easy to vary each rose and make them look more realistic.
