HOORAY!

Summer's almost here and I've got a card full of bright summer colors!
I used the color inspiration from ColourQ
and
the sketch from the Deconstructed Sketch.

I used the "Janie's Girls" stamp set from Hot off the Press.
This set has 7 of the cutest little girls I've ever seen
and they are so much fun to play with.
This one reminds me of some of the outfits my daughter used
to put together and sometimes still does, but don't tell her I told you that!
Thanks for taking a look!

Latte Birthday Wishes

I found a cute, free digital image over at bearywishes.com and thought it would make a fun
birthday card.  I used the sketch for the current challenge at Freshly Made Sketches and the
color combo at Color Throwdown as inspirattion.  I'm also linking up to
Seize the Birthday for Anything Goes.

I think I've said it before that cute and fun is not usually my card making style
but I'm really enjoying printing and coloring these digital images I've found.
Maybe I'm reverting back to my childhood!
Anyway, hope you all have a great weekend and as always,
 thanks for taking a look!

52 CCT Past Sketch Challenge

This is my last post as GDT for 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown.  I've had a great time this
month and am so grateful to the team for making me feel so welcome!  This week it's time
to pick a past sketch for your Christmas card creation.  The sketch I chose is from
November 2012.

I used an Inkadinkado stamp set called "Ornate Christmas" for my snowman.  The
snowman was first stamped and embossed, colored with spectrum noir markers and
glittered.  I then fussy cut him and foam taped to an embossed oval.  I embossed the large
white panel, added the snowflake ribbon and finished up with some pearls.  I hope you
take a look at the design team's inspiration at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown and
link up your own creation.  Thanks for taking a look!

Tulips Just for You

Wasn't quite sure I was going to get a card done to link with the Color Throwdown
challenge this week, but I made it with a few hours to spare!

Here's the color combo to use...

and what I came up with.

I used a digital image from birdscards.com and colored it with spectrum noir markers.  It
was fussy cut and adhered to die cut circles. I did some dry embossing, die cut some
banners and stamped the sentiment. The sketch is from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge
where you can choose a past sketch to work with. This is sketch #179.
Thanks for taking a look!

Andrew by C Thru the Woods

I made a couple of Father's Day cards using the large Andrew stamp from The Boys in
the Woods Series by C Thru the Woods Clear Stamps.  The first one was made with the
color combo over at Crazy 4 Challenges and the other is in a related color combo.

The first one was done by stamping Andrew twice, once on white card stock and the
second on kraft card stock. I colored the white version with pencil colors and then fussy
cut his pants and hair from the kraft card stock and paper pieced to better match the colors
for the challenge.  I die cut the turquoise and orange circles and then embossed the orange
one. I die cut the banner and added the letter stickers spelling out Dad and finished with
some enamel dot stickers.

The second was stamped once, colored with pencil colors and fussy cut. I die cut one
circle and embossed. The sentiment was computer generated and die cut. I finished with
enamel dot stickers. If you have trouble finding stamps that are masculine you should
check out C Thru the Woods! Thanks for taking a look!

Birthday Tulip

Today I have a card made with inspiration from the photo challenge over at Just Us Girls
and the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

This one was pretty quick and simple. I used a digital stamp from birdscards.com which
I colored with spectrum noir markers, fussy cut and added to an embossed panel. I
finished  up with a greeting sticker and some pink pearls. I am also linking up to CASology
and Seize the Birthday.  Thanks for taking a look!

52 CCT Stash Challenge

Hello! It's the 4th Saturday in May and time for a new stash challenge over at
52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown where I'm having a great time as GDT this month.
The challenge this time is to use something old, new, borrowed, blue. Match at least two
of these items in your stash and create!  Here's what I came up with.

As you can see I definitely used something blue.  The ornament stamp is a new one for me.
The ribbon I used is probably at least 15 years old. So I was able to match up 3 of the 4
things. I hope you take a look at what the design team came up with and come up  with your
own creation to link up at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown! Thanks for taking a  look!

HOC Color Challenge

It's time for another color/photo inspiration challenge at House of Cards. We are looking
for cards made with the CAS or Classic & Elegant styles or both for the next 2 weeks.

I used a stamp from a Penny Black set called "flower gallery" and colored it with spectrum
noir markers. The frame was cut with the Cricut "Elegant Edges" cartridge. The printed
paper is from DCWV's Violet Leaf stack. I did some dry embossing, used some
dazzles border and corner stickers and added some jewels. Hope you take a look at the
great creations the rest of the design team came up with and share your own with us at
House of Cards! Thanks for taking a look!

HI!

I have one last post for the weekend.  Wanted to get a card made for the challenge over
at Color Throwdown and found a sketch I like at The Deconstructed Sketch which I
thought worked well for another one of "Janie's Girls".  Here's what I came up with this
time.

If you saw one of my earlier posts I used a cute stamp set called "Janie's Girls" from
Hot Off the Press.  This uses another one.  I'm really loving them. This one was
colored with spectrum noir markers and the DP is another from a Paper Studio's
paper pack calle "East Cake".  The sentiment and flowers are dazzles stickers from
Hot Off the Press.  Now I guess I better get off the computer before the hubby wonders
if he's getting any dinner tonight! Thanks for taking a look!

JUGS #241

There's a color challenge at Just Us Girls this week.  You are to us kraft, orchid and
white.

I made my card pretty simple.  I used a stamp from Inkadinkado's "Meadow" stamp
set and a sentiment stamp from a Stampendous set called "Orchid Greetings".  The
embossed panel was done with Cuttlebug 's "Swiss Dot's" embossing folder and I
used a Fiskars border punch and a Martha Stewart butterfly punch to which I added
3 tiny pearls. Thanks for taking a look!

Smile!

Smile. That's what I can't stop doing when I look at the cute little image I used on this card
made using the latest sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

She is from a new stamp set I just purchased from Hot Off the Press called "Janie's Girls".
This set has seven of the sweetest images I have ever seen and I knew the one I used on this
card would be perfect with this sketch. I stamped, embossed and then colored her with
markers and fussy cut. The DP's are from a Paper Studio's paper pack called "Eat Cake".
I am really pleased with the way this card turned out! What do you think? As always,
thanks for taking a look!

Fusion Card Challenge

I have a card this morning inspired by the Fusion Card Challenge.  When I saw
the inspiration photo and the sketch I knew I wanted to give it a try. I love the
colors in the photo and I love, love calla lilies. This challenge is great because you
have lots of options to work with. You can use the photo or the sketch or you can
combine both for your card.

Here's what is given to work with…

and here's what I came up with.

I went back and forth with what to do with those calla lilies. This is actually an embossing
folder and at first I left the flowers and foilage white but he embossing didn't really
show up that well and it looked like I just had a big white oval there.  So I decided to
color the raised image with Marvy brush markers and although I'm not really thrilled
with the outcome I think it fits the challenge well.  Thanks for taking a look!

Charlie by C Thru the Woods

I have another card made with one of the stamps from The Boys in the Woods
series by C Thru the Woods Clear Stamps. This one is made with the  3 1/2 inch
Charlie stamp. You should check them out!

I colored Charlie with spectrum noirs markers, fussy cut him and foam taped to the
embossed oval which was die cut with Sizzix framelits. The star was die cut with a Sizzix
originals die. The DP's I used are from a paper pack called  "Eat Cake" by Paper Studio.

I used the sketch at Seize the Sketch, although I turned it and will also link up to the
Seize the Birthday challenge for Anything Goes.

Thanks for taking a look!

52 CCT C.A.R.D

This is my third week as GDT week at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown and we are having a C.A.R.D. challenge. That's short for Color something in, Add Rhinestones and/or Ribbon and
Deboss.

Here's what I came up with.

I started with this free digital image from paperprintables.com and colored it with
smooch inks. Then I pulled out my Sizzix square and scalloped square framelits dies
to frame the image. I used the debossed side of a Lifestyle Crafts embossing folder, cut
a banner, added a little bit of ribbon and of course, rhinestones. Hope you take a
look at the design team's inspiration over at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown and link
up your creation! Thanks for taking a look!

Kissing Technique

I have a quick post tonight because I wanted to give the technique challenge over at
Just Us Girls a try.

I used a stamp set from Hot Off the Press called Flower Silhouettes and used inks
from a Color Box paintbox. The DP's are from Recollections and I added some
dazzles stickers also from Hot Off the Press. The border was done with a Martha
Stewart punch. Thanks for taking a look!

Congrats

I am so excited to share with you today a card that was made with a stamp from a new
company called C Thru the Woods Clear Stamps, The Boys in the Woods Series. Charlene
Woods is the artist who created these stamps and she came up with them because she has
4 sons and has found it difficult to find boy related products that were more mature and
sophisticated  than the "little" boy products that are on the market. If you are looking for
something like this you need to check it out!

Charlene contacted me a week ago and asked if I would be interested in designing for her.
And, I could not turn her down. So this is what I hope to be the first of many projects I
do for her company.

This image is called "Andrew" and he comes in 2 sizes. This is the 3 1/2" size and it is
also made in a 6 3/4" size. I thought he would work great with this week's sketch from
Freshly Made Sketches and the color combo from Color Throwdown.

Thanks for taking a look!

52 CCT Color Challenge

Hi there! It's my second week as Guest Designer at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown.
This time around we have a color challenge.

I bought this cute Penny Black stamp a couple months ago and decided it was time to
ink it up! I had a lot of fun coloring with spectrum noir markers and adding flocking
to the polar bear and the fur on the little girl's dress and stocking cap. The snowflakes
were die cut with the Spellbinders Create - a - flake four die set and I added the jewel
flowers which are from Recollections.  I stamped the greeting and die cut with a Sizzix
oval die.  I know you'll get great inspiration form the design team and hope you'll
link up your at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown. Thanks for taking a look!

I'm also linking up to the Sparkles Christmas Challenge where the theme is "baby it's
cold outside".

It's Cold Outside

The Sparkles Christmas challenge for this month is to make a project with the theme
"Baby It's Cold Outside".  I bought a cute Penny Black stamp a while back and
thought it fit the theme pretty well. So here's what I came up with!

Pink's not necessarily the first color you think of when making a Christmas themed
project, but you have to use something different from green and red every once in
a while. I stamped the image twice since the image didn't exactly fit within the oval
die cut. The second one was fussy cut and foam taped on top of the first. I colored
the image with spectrum noir markers and added some flocking to the fur on the girl's
hat and dress and the bear. I added some glitter as snow and a little bit of bling!
Thanks for taking a look!

Mother's Day Window

I've been wanting to use my Tim Holtz Window and Window Box die for a while
now and decided I would give it a try when I saw this weeks sketch  over at
Just Us Girls. I thought I would make a Mother's Day Card and the color combo
at Color Throwdown looked like a good a good one to use for that, so here's what
I came up with.

This is the first time I used this brick embossing folder from Paper Studio. I rubbed a little
bit of black ink over the embossing. The DP I used for the curtains is from DCVW's
Spring Fling stack. I used a Marvy's daisy punch for the flowers and a Martha Stewart
punch for the sprigs. The greeting was computer generated and cut with a Taylored
Expressions label die. I added some tiny jewels on the flower centers. As always,
thanks for taking a look!

52CCT May Sketch Challenge

I'm so excited to have been invited to be GDT at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown
for the month of May. The design team there provides great inspiration each week to get
all your Christmas cards done well before the the holiday rush hits.  The first challenge
of each month is a sketch challenge.

Here's what you have to work with…

and here's what I came up with.

I have quite a stash of Dazzles stickers from Hot Off the Press so I decided to put some to
use. I love dazzles stickers because you can do so much with them. You can place them on
plain card stock and color them in, like I did, or you can back them with colored card stock
and cut around them. I used smooch inks for the coloring and added some glitter to the
areas of the stickers I left white. I used Sizzix framelits dies for the frame. Made a banner
and added a dazzles border and dazzles sentiment. The white snowflakes were punched
and glittered. And I finished up with some gems on the snowflakes. Hope you get some
inspiration and link your own creation up at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown!
Thanks for taking a look!

I'm also linking this to the Sparkles Christmas Challenge where the theme is "baby it's
cold outside".
