Birthday Poppies

I have just a quick post with a card I want to enter
in a couple of challenges I haven't played in a while.

I used the sketch at
and the color combination at
Color Throwdown
as my inspiration.

I used Memory Box's Prim Poppy die
and coordinating stamp and die sets from
Hot Off the Press. I added a little bit of ribbon
and some enamel dots.

Case-ing Christmas Challenge #2

I am so happy to have been asked to be part of the Design Team
for a new Christmas card challenge called
This is  a weekly challenge where you are given an example
of one of the design teams cards and asked to create your
own version based on something in the card that inspires you.
That can be the layout, the colors. elements, whatever!

This week Pat's beautiful card is the inspiration.

This is my take which I call "Silver Bells".
I was inspired by the colors and the banners.

The bells image I used is a free coloring page printable.
I printed on white card stock, colored with smooch inks,
fussy cut and added some gems and jewel dazzles.
I stamped the greeting with a Fiskars stamp and
die cut into a label with a Lifestyle Crafts die.
The embossing folder is from Cuttlebug and
the metallic papers are DCWV.
I hope you'll come up with your own version
and link up with us at Case-ing Christmas.

Chocolate, Coffee & Cards Challenge #82

No Circles

It's a new challenge at Chocolate, Coffee & Cards sponsored by

This time create a card with NO CIRCLES.

I used the "MIMSY" digital stamp from
Rick St. Dennis.

Mimsy was printed on white card stock, colored with a
combination of spectrum noir markers and pencil colors and fussy cut.
I foam taped her to ovals that were cut with Sizzix dies
and embossed with a Paper Studio embossing folder.
The purple panel behind the oval was done with a
Cuttlebug folder. An old Sizzix sizzlit was used to cut the
flourishes behind the paper Reollections rose.
I finished up with a computer generated greeting
on an oval die cut.

So, see what you can come up with using NO CIRCLES and link it up with
Chocolate, Coffee & Cards Challenge.

Dreaming of Springtime?

Okay, I must be dreaming of springtime.  It's been snowing here all afternoon
so you'd think I'd be inspired to come up with a more winter themed
card, but no I came up with this one!

I wanted to link up with the challenge at Beccy's Place,
where you need to use one of her images to do so.
I had this one which I won last month
and thought it would work well with the color combo at colourQ.

I printed the image on white card stock, colored with spectrum noir
pencil colors, fussy cut and added to the die cut ovals.
I did a little bit of dry embossing, stamped a sentiment and
finished up with some enamel dots.
And there you have it. Springtime!
Boy, that's really wishful thinking. It's only January
and I live in Colorado!
Anyway, hope you all have a great rest of the weekend.

HOC January Challenge 2015

Happy New Year!
Can you believe it's 2015? Where did 2014 go?
So I guess it's "out with the old and in with the new"!
The new year means a new term at
House of Cards.
We have some new design team members and
some great new challenges coming your way.

This month the challenge is to use glitter and/or the given color combo/photo inspiration.

I chose to use a little bit of glitter and the color combo.

I immediately thought "peacock" when I saw these colors
and knew this Jolee's boutique sticker was perfect for this card.
I framed the peacock with a Spellbinders die cut and added some
stickles. The background DP is from Hot Off the Press.
The greeting was computer generated and cut with a
Taylored Expressions die.

I hope you link up your creation over at
House of Cards.
You have all month to do so and be sure and check out new inspiration from
different DT members each week throughout the month.
