Snowman Slimline Card Tutorial
Looking for inspiration for your next winter cardmaking project?
This cheerful slimline card features the new Snow Laughing Matter Stamps and is filled with frosty fun! With a playful snowman, festive patterned paper, and a sweet winter sentiment, this card is a fun way to send a little warmth to someone special during the chilly winter months.
Creating the Snowman Focal Point
Start by stamping the adorable snowman image from the new Snow Laughing Matter Stamps. Color the image with your favorite medium. My favorite medium for coloring is Prismacolor Pencils. Once the coloring is complete, carefully fussy cut the snowman for the card focal.
Designing the Slimline Card
Create a slimline card base by scoring a piece of 8 x 9 inch white card stock at 4 inches along the 8 inch side. Fold and crease.
Cut a piece of Kraft card stock to 4 x 8 inches to layer onto the card base.
Designing the Slimline Card
Create a slimline card base by scoring a piece of 8 x 9 inch white card stock at 4 inches along the 8 inch side. Fold and crease.
Cut a piece of Kraft card stock to 4 x 8 inches to layer onto the card base.
For the card background, cut 2 pieces of pattern paper from the Timeless Christmas Paper Pack. Cut one to 3 3/4 x 6 inches. The other 3 3/4 x 2 1/4 inches.
Next cut accent pieces for the card design.
To ground the snowman on the card cut a few pieces of white card stock with Scalloped Border Dies to create a snowbank. Add a little inking for dimension
Cut a narrow strip of Kraft card stock for a transition between the 2 pieces of pattern paper.
Cut a piece of yellow vellum to mimic candlelight behind the lamp of the focal image.
2 pennant pieces are cut with Pennant Dies.
Putting the Card Together
Layer the Kraft panel onto the card base. Adhere the pattern papers, add the white snowbank pieces and narrow Kraft strip.
Add the pennant die cuts.
Stamp the sentiment, “You make winter warmer,” heat emboss and cut with the Banner Die Set. The banner adds another layer of interest while highlighting the sweet message.
Wrap the straight end of the banner with twine. Adhere on the top of the card.
Add the focal image.
To finish the card, add a few button snowflakes. Add some glitter glue to the snow on the lamp and snowbank. These playful details add a touch of texture and give the card a little extra personality!
Slimline cards are a great way to showcase a larger focal image while still leaving room for patterned paper and decorative accents. This design is easy to adapt using your favorite winter stamps, coordinating papers, and embellishments.

Easy Winter Card with Snow Over It Stamps
Sometimes the simplest card designs are the perfect way to let a beautiful stamped image shine! For this winter-themed handmade card, I’m featuring the new Snow Over It Stamps from Pajama Crafter Stamps.
Creating a Simple Snowy Card
I started by stamping the image from the new Snow Over It Stamp Set onto a white cardstock panel. Color was added to the image with Prismacolor Pencils.
To create a little atmosphere around the stamped image, I lightly inked the background. This subtle touch helps the focal image stand out without distracting from the main design.
Of course, a winter card needs a little sparkle! I added clear glitter glue to the snow and snowflakes in the stamped image. The glitter catches the light beautifully and adds a frosty finish to the scene.
Assembling the Card
Once the coloring and glitter glue were complete, I adhered the finished image panel to a white 5 x 7-inch card base covered with metallic cardstock. The metallic layer adds a touch of shine and gives the simple design a polished finish.
To complete the card, I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment, “If you need me, I’ll be hibernating,” onto a smaller white rectangle. The sentiment panel goes along the bottom of the card base. This helps create a clean, balanced layout that keeps the focus on the winter image and its playful message.
Adding a die cut border and 3 die cut snowflakes add little something extra! And adding some Girl’s Best Friend Rhinestone Mix Embellishments complete the design.
A Little Winter Inspiration
This card is a reminder that you don’t need lots of layers or embellishments to create a special handmade card. A stamped image, colored pencils, subtle ink blending, and a little glitter are all it takes to create a charming winter design!
The new Snow Over It Stamp Set from Pajama Crafter Stamps makes a wonderful addition to your winter cardmaking supplies. Pairing it with your favorite coloring medium and adding a touch of sparkle for a snowy scene that’s sure to bring a smile.

Layering Favorite Products to Create a Fall Card
Create Dimension with Layered Patterns
One of my favorite techniques for creating a handmade card is layering patterned papers.
Rather than using one pattern for the background, three papers from
the Autumn Whispers Paper Pad are used.
Multiple layers introduce different colors and patterns into the design.
When layering patterned paper, I like to vary the size of each piece and
leave narrow borders between the layers.
This creates definition between the patterns
without overwhelming the focal point of the card.
Add Decorative Edges with Dies
The Stitched Scalloped Border Dies are an easy way to add
The scalloped border helps break up the straight edge of
one of the patterned paper layers.
It adds a soft, decorative touch that complements the fall theme.
Also, punching rounded corners on the 2 smaller panels make for additional interest.
Finishing the Card
Cut 2 banners with the Banner Die Set.
Stamp a sentiment from All American Girl Stamps onto one.
Banner shapes are a great way to incorporate sentiments
while also adding another layer to the overall card design.
The Flower Child focal image is colored with Ohuhu markers,
fussy cut and added to the card.
The last piece added was a corner from Fancy Corners.
The combination of layered patterned papers, decorative die-cut borders,
a stamped focal image and a die-cut banner creates a dimensional fall card
while allowing each favorite product to have a role in the design.
Celebrate Your Favorites
Fall for Our Favorites Week is the perfect opportunity to pull out those Pajama Crafter Stamps products you love using and find new ways to combine them.
Sometimes, simply pairing a favorite stamp set with a different patterned paper collection or adding a few decorative die-cut layers can give your favorite supplies a whole new look.

Dino Twist Halloween Card | Eek! Spooky Countdown
Halloween crafting is always more fun when you can mix a little spooky with a whole lot of cute! And, since the Pajama Crafter Stamps design team is creating inspiring projects for Eek! Spooky Countdown, you'll be seeing a lot of Halloween themed projects here, on YouTube and social media.
Today I get to share a fun Halloween card featuring a prehistoric character who is ready to join trick-or-treating festivities. By combining images and sentiments from several Pajama Crafter Stamps sets, this card proves that you don’t have to stick to a single stamp set to create a fun and cohesive Halloween scene.
Start with a Card Base
This card measures 5 1/2 inches square. Create the base by scoring, folding and burnishing an 11 x 5 1/2 inch piece of card stock at 5 1/2 inches along the 11 inch side.
Cut a mat 5 1/4 inches square.
A piece of pattern paper from Celestial Dreams Paper Pad is cut to 5 1/8 inches square for the background.
Creating Components
The focal point of this Halloween card is the adorable dinosaur from the Closer to Extinction Stamps. To give this prehistoric character a Halloween makeover, add a witch hat pieced from one of the characters from the Where My Ghouls At? Stamps.
Create a moon by die cutting a large circle from vellum. Add some inking.
For sentiments, die cut “WHOA” and shadow from Dang, Whoa, Yikes! Word and Shadow Dies. Stamp the background stamp, Creepin it Real Stamps with Versamark and heat emboss with embossing powder. Trim down the Trick or Treat line.
Building the Design
Add the matting layer to the card base. Adhere the pattern paper.
The moon goes on next.
Place the “Trick or Treat” sentiment strip.
Add the witch hat to the dino and adhering with foam tape.
Finish by adding the “WHOA” sentiment and some bat stickers.
Mix, Match & Create!
One of my favorite things about creating Halloween cards is finding unexpected ways to combine products. Mixing the dinosaur from Closer to Extinction, the witch hat from Where My Ghouls At? and sentiments from Dang, Whoa Yikes and Shadow Die and Creepin It Real all set against a paper from Celestial Dreams Paper Pad created a completely new Halloween character and scene.
This is also a great reminder to look through your stamp and die collection with fresh eyes. A small accessory, like a witch hat, can turn an everyday stamped image into the perfect Halloween character!
Whether you’re creating Halloween cards for friends and family, building your handmade card stash, or simply looking for fun Halloween cardmaking ideas, the Pajama Crafter Stamps Eek! Spooky Countdown is the perfect inspiration to get creative.
So grab your favorite Halloween stamps, mix up some unexpected combinations, and get ready to create something a little spooky, a little silly, and a whole lot of fun!
Until next time –
