Gift Card Holders
So, how’s it going? Christmas is only a few days away! Are you done with your shopping and have other preparations in motion?
Hey there! Today I'm sharing my latest project for CutCardStock. It’s a set of easily constructed gift card holders. Sure, you can give them in the packaging they come in, but why not make the presentation a little more special?
I started by cutting the bases to 3 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches out of Stardream Metallic GOLD 105 lb Cardstock. Score at 2 and 6 inches along the 8 1/2 inch side.
This card stock scores and folds beautifully. The weight is perfect for the base.
Next pieces to cover the outside of the holder were cut. You’ll want a piece for each flap. I used Mohawk Super Fine White Smooth 100 lb CardStock and cut a piece to 1 3/4 x 3 1/4 inches for the upper flap and 2/1/4 x 3 1/4 for the bottom flap.
These pieces were embossed with an embossing folder for a little texture and then adhered to the base.
Frames were cut out of the gold metallic and white card stocks, layered and adhered to the top flap.
I die cut poinsettias, leaves, flourishes and a sentiment to add to the frames .
Lessebo Colors Premium DAWN MAROON 83lb Cardstock and Lessebo Colors HUNTER GREEN 83lb Cardstock were used for these pieces.
This card stock is a fairly new line CutCardStock is carrying. It is nice and smooth and cut and embossed beautifully!
The poinsettias were layered and a pearl embellishment added to each flower center.
A pocket to hold the gift card was created by adhering the sides of the bottom flap to the inside of the base. I used a strong 1/4 inch wide double sided tape for this step.
Decorate the frames with the other die cuts. Add velcro to the backside of the frames and bottom flap to keep the holder closed.
Give these a try and decorate to make appropriate for the gifting occasion. I’m sure your recipients will love them!
Thanks so much for giving my project a look.

Curled Paper Wreath
Do you like creating holiday decor that is pretty quick and easy? If so, I have a curled wreath project for you!
Hey there! Today I'm here with my latest CutCardStock DT creation. This wreath was fun to construct and really takes minimal materials. I used ribbon that I purchased a while ago as inspiration for my wreath, but, it would work great in any color combination to match your decor.
My base for this project is a 12 inch chipboard wreath form, which I painted with blue metallic acrylic paint.
3 Silk Glitter 12 x 12 inch Card Stocks were used in Regal Royal Blue , Opulent Opal , and Sparkling Water Aqua .
Each sheet of the card stock was cut into 1/2 x 12 inch strips.
Each strip was curled by wrapping around a pencil. This card stock worked well for curling. I did use my fingers to loosen the curls a little.
A spot of glue was added to the center of each curl with a low temp glue gun. The curls were randomly adhered to the wreath base.
Continue adding the curls all the way around. I did leave a small space open at the top to add a triple loop bow.
Thanks for taking a look at my Curled Paper Wreath Project!
