Love Bears Canvas

Hey there everyone!
I am so happy to have been asked to
join the Imagine That Digistamp Facebook DT
after spending the month of January as a Guest Designer!

There are some fun new sets available this month at
with Valentine themes. They will all be sure to get
your creative juices going!

I knew when I saw this cute Love Bears set along with
Beary in Love Papers and Beary in Love Kit
that I wanted to create a canvas.

I colored the bear love image with Prismacolor pencils and fussy cut.
I painted the 7x14 inch canvas with acrylic paint.
Two of the papers were printed and glued to a red mat
and all was decopauged to the canvas. I added a third paper
on the both sides of the matted papers and sealed with the
decoupage medium. The images on the right side of the
canvas are from the elements set. I resized and recolored
the hearts. the flower swag was resized and cut into 3 pieces,
then popped with foam tape for some dimension.
I added some layered paper flowers on the left side
for a little balance and finished by adding pearls.

I hope you'll check out these products
and the others available at
You'll be glad you did!

The flowers and butterflies were made with punches.
My title is one of the sentiments included with the set,
as are the printed papers.
I used some ribbon, baker's twine, a dazzles border sticker and enamel dots as well.
The background was created with 3 different colors
of green card stock that was torn and apples with
decoupage medium. The edges were painted with black acrylic paint.

Sept Cute As A Button Inspiration

Happy Tuesday!
I'm on the
sharing my inspiration project for this month.

I created a mixed media canvas using

I started by coloring the image with pencils and fussy cutting.
I pulled out a 12"x12" canvas,
a 12"x12" piece of DP from K &Company
and some mixed media gel.

I adhered the DP to the canvas with the gel.
Next I pulled out some metallic acrylic paints,
a Heid Swaps stencil and gold texture pasted
and some wood and chipboard pieces.

I took the metallic paints and randomly painted the canvas,
just to give a little interest to the background.
I applied the texture paste through the stencil.

While I left the paint and texture paste to dry,
I primed the wood and chip board pieces with white gesso.
When these pieces were dry Painted with gold paint.
I painted the sides of the canvas with gold paint also.

Once everything was dry, I added all my pieces to the canvas.
I ended up adding a fan I made with card stock,
some paper flowers and some seed beads.

This is what I ended up with!

I love doing these mixed media canvases
because there's no right or wrong
and I think they make great gifts!

I hope I've inspired you to give it a try!
You'll have fun and want to do more!

Until next time
Happy Crafting!

Beauty

We have a new challenge starting today at

The theme is
Anything Goes.

I created a mixed media canvas.

using  Cameo 13 from one of our sponsors this week
Morgan's Artworld

Our other sponsors this week are
 Robyns Fetish & Bugaboo.

I started with a blank 10 x 10 canvas and added
card stock that I tore into many pieces with
gel medium for some texture.
Next I painted the canvas with acrylic paints.
More texture was added by stenciling with texture paste.
I added some wood flourishes which I painted with gesso.
The image was colored with pencils and fussy cut.
I added a little bit of glitter to the image.
I popped the image with foam tape on the canvas
and decided to add some feathers to the headpiece.
Next came the flowers in the upper corner.
I thought i needed a little something more,
so I painted 3 chip board butterflies,
added some glitter and gems and positioned on the canvas.
The title came last and was painted with gesso.

I hope you'll join us at

MHKDesigns August Inspiration

Hello all!
Today I am on the
sharing my Inspiration Project for August.

I have a lot of time on my hands lately
so I've been experimenting with some new, to me, types of paper crafts.

This is a mixed media canvas I created using the

I used quite a variety of items and mediums on this 7x14" canvas.
The 3 butterflies and sentiment were colored with pencils & fussy cut.
The canvas was painted, first, with 3 different glimmer mists.
I added texture with a stencil & texture paste.
I added wood elements which were painted with metallic acrylic paint.
I framed the sentiment with a die cut,
which I also painted to match the wood pieces.
There are a few metal pieces at the top.
I added paper flowers and finished up m with some pearls.

Here are some close ups

I will definitely be doing more pieces like this!
