The DT was asked to create with acetate or vellum this week. I chose
to go with acetate and made a shaker card. The digi I used is Cute Chick with Umbrella.
I colored with Prismacolor Pencils and fussy cut.
The background paper is from Pretty Spring Printable Papers.
My shaker element is clear all the way through the card front to
allow the sentiment inside to show through.
I die cut the card base front and the frame. Acetate is sandwiched in between.
The sentiment was stamped from Hello Sunshine 4x4" Clear Stamp Set.
I used flower shaped sequins.

Won't you join us?

Just Because Card

Hey there! Today I'm sharing my first CutCardStock project for June. It is a floral card design that is sure to make someone feel special, “just because”. This card was created with a variety of card stocks from the  Pop Tone line which were matted, stamped, die cut and/or embossed. If you haven’t checked out the Pop Tone line you should. Available in a wide range of colors, they are on special this month.

I started with a white card base made with a piece of Pop Tone PINK LEMONADE 8.5×11 Discount Card Stock measuring 6 1/2 x 10 inches folded in half. Two mats were cut from Pop Tone RAZZLEBERRY 8.5×11 Discount Card Stock (6 1/8 x 4 5/8 inches) and Pop Tone SWEET TOOTH 8.5×11 Discount Card Stock (6 x 4 1/2 inches).

I embossed the piece of Sweet Tooth card with a corner flourish embossing folder and inked with a light green ink to add a little color. This piece was adhered to the Razzleberry mat and the card base.

With the base done, I stamped, wet embossed and die cut my flower pieces from Pop Tone PINK LEMONADE Pop Tone RAZZLEBERRY and Pop Tone COTTON CANDY 8.5×11 Discount Card Stock. The sentiment was die cut from Pop Tone COTTON CANDY. Foliage was die cut from Pop Tone GUM DROP GREEN 8.5×11 Discount Card Stock and Pop Tone BLUE RASPBERRY CardStock 8.5×11.

Flowers were assembled by layering. Pearls were added to the centers. Each of the flowers measure about 1 1/2 inches overall.

Originally, I was going to just arrange all of my die cut pieces on to the embossed background. But, I decided to add a smaller panel to the card center to do so.

A 5 1/4 x 2 1/2 inch piece of Sweet Tooth card is matted by a 5 3/8 x 2 5/8 inch piece of Razzleberry. The die cut sentiment is adhered to a matted strip.

Start arranging the die cut flowers and foliage by laying out on the base.

Once you like the design adhere. I used a low temp glue gun.

I hope I have provided a little inspiration for you today! And remember we’d love for you to connect with us over on the CutCardStock Facebook Page!
