Veteran's Day Wave Pop Up Card

Hello there. Today, I’m sharing a special project created in honor of all who have served — a Veterans Day wave pop-up card featuring products from Pajama Crafter Stamps.

The card design combines bold patriotic colors with heartfelt sentiment. 

The front showcases a mix of red and blue stars framing the message “Veterans Day – Honoring All Who Served”, along with a dimensional awareness ribbon in coordinating colors for a meaningful focal point. 

The stars and awareness ribbon were stamped from Awareness Stamps. The sentiment is one of the flashcards from Patriotic Flashcards. Patterned papers used are from Vintage Americana Paper Pack.

Inside, the card features a fun wave pop-up element that adds movement and surprise when opened — a perfect way to bring extra life to this tribute design. I added the soldier image from the flashcard I used, a die cut “thank you” sentiment, stars and stamped “brave” from the Awareness Stamps.

Card Base

Cut a piece of card stock to 4 1/4 x 11 inches.

Score at 5 1/4 & 5 3/4 inches along the 11 inch side. Fold and burnish along the score lines.

Cut 3 pieces of card stock to 4 x 5 inches.

Adhere to front and both inside panels.

Adhere a rectangular piece of card stock to bottom of card front.

Cut 2 diagonal card stock pieces and adhere to inside panels.

“Wave”

Cut a piece of card stock  to 6 x 7 3/4 inches. 

Score at 3, 3 3/4, 4 1/2 & 7 1/2 inches along the 7 3/4 inch side.

Cut 6, 1 inch strips along the 6 inch side. 

Fold and burnish on the score lines to form an “M” shape.

Glue the 1/4 inch end to the inside edge of the other end

Begin adding the “wave” pieces to the inside of the card. To do this, adhere 1 piece to the right side just below the bottom score line. The part that forms an “M” will face toward the bottom of the card as in photos below.

Continue by adding the next 5 pieces stacking on top of the left side of each piece overlapping about a 3/8 inch.

Once you adhere all 6 “wave” pieces, glue the last piece on the far left side just above the uppermost score line. So, attach the top of the last piece to the upper flap of the card.

With the card open to the inside, add decorative pieces to the front of each “wave” piece.

I added die cut stars.

Complete front and inside of card as desired.

This project is a simple yet powerful way to express gratitude and remember those who have given so much for our freedom.
