Hey there! Today I'm sharing another card project for CutCardStock using vellum.
This card features vellum flowers that were die cut and inked.
I started by making a 5 1/2 inch square card by taking a 5 1/2 x 11 inch piece of Stardream Metallic KUNZITE Card Stock, scoring at 5 1/2 inches along the 11 inch side and folding.
A piece of Silk Glitter Prosperous Purple Card stock was cut to 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 inches.
Die Cutting and Inking
Next I die cut a frame using the Stardream Metallic KUNZITE Card Stock. Basis WHITE Discount Cardstock was used to cut some various foliage. Flowers were cut out of CTI Glama Natural Translucent (Vellum) CLEAR 48lb Cover Card Stock.
I added color to the flowers and layered for some dimension.
Adding Die Cuts
The frame was adhered to the card base. Four pieces were added to the corners. Flowers were arranged and adhered with hot glue. Foliage and a sentiment were added to complete.
Thanks for taking a look at my vellum flowers card project. I hope I’ve given you a little inspiration to try some new techniques with vellum.
As always, we would love for you to connect with us over on the CutCardStock Facebook Page and the Facebook Group Creating with Card Stock for more inspiration.
Hey there! Today I'm sharing a card project I created for CutCardStock stamping, embossing and coloring on vellum.
I love vellum! How about you? There are so many ways you can incorporate it in your projects and the product that CutCardStock carries is fabulous! It is nice and thick and I had no problem using the heat gun for the embossing.
Materials
Curious Translucent CLEAR 65lb Cover Weight 8.5×11 Discount Card Stock
DCS Discount Card Stock: Pearlized Textured Fruit Punch Pink
DCS Gold GLITTER Heavyweight 12×12 Discount Card Stock
Floral Stamp, Sentiment Stamp
VersaMark Watermark Stamp Pad, Pink Metallic Stamp Pad
Gold Embossing Powder
Permanent Markers
Frame Dies
Double Sided Tape Adhesive, Foam Tape, Pearls
A piece of vellum was cut to 4 3/4 x 6 1/4 inches. I stamped the floral image in the center with VersaMark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.
The floral image was colored on the backside of the vellum.
I die cut a frame for the vellum panel by taping 2 dies together and making one cut out of gold glitter card stock.
The frame was adhered to the vellum with double sided tape and trimmed around the edge of the frame.
Card Base
Cut a piece of basis white card stock to 10 x 6 1/2 inches, score a 5 inches along the 10 inch side and fold in half. This forms a 5 x 6 1/2 inch card base. The front of the card is covered with a piece of 5 x 6 1/2 pink card stock.
Another piece of basis white card was cut to 4 3/4 x 6 1/4 inch and adhered to center of card base.
Finishing the Design
My framed vellum piece is adhered to the card center with foam tape.
A sentiment was stamped, die cut and adhered with foam tape.
Pearls completed the design.
I hope I’ve provided a little inspiration for you to give stamping, embossing and coloring on vellum a try.
