Party Animals Birthday Card with Creative Die Cutting

Today I’m excited to share a fun and festive party animals birthday card created for Pet Week at Pajama Crafter Stamps. Judy V here to share how this card came together with some creative die cutting.

This cheerful birthday card features an adorable trio of pets, all ready to party in their little hats. I wanted to create a playful scene with lots of movement and color, so I combined bright papers with layered die cuts and stamped images.

Card Details:

I started with a 5 x 6 1/2 inch white card base. Cut a piece of bright blue cardstock same size to cover the base and frame the design for a bold pop of color. For the background, I used patterned paper from the Birthday Bash Paper Pad, trimming it into sections for a fun, slightly whimsical layout.

To create visual interest, I added a white, soft curved layer across the center using the Scalloped Border Die. This helped separate the top and bottom sections while adding a touch of texture. Ink the “Happy Birthday” embossing on the scalloped edge with blue ink.

I die cut 2 areas of the white curved piece with the Scalloped Circle Die. Make another cut in the lower corner of the patterned paper.

Stamp the sentiment with stamps from the Mix & Match Celebrations Sentimentsand adhere to the yellow pattern paper.

Layer the background onto the blue mat. Then apply to the card base.

Focal Elements

The stars of the card are these sweet pets from My Best Friend Stamps and High Five Stamps. Stamp each image. Color with Prismacolor Pencils and fussy cut.

Finishing Touches

Add the scalloped die cuts into the negative cut outs. The color beneath shows through and adds a little extra touch to the overall design.

Stamp party hats from Hippo Hooray Stamps and confetti elements from Prehistoric Birthday Stamps. Color with glitter gel pens and fussy cut.

Adhere the party animals to the scalloped circle die cut frames with foam tape. To complete add the party hats and confetti elements. These little details help bring everything together and enhance the celebratory theme.
