Elegant Leafy Wreath Card

There’s something timeless about a leafy wreath paired with soft neutrals and a touch of shine. This elegant thank you card uses layered cardstock foliage to create beautiful depth while keeping the design clean and classic.

This card is perfect for weddings, showers, or anytime you want a heartfelt handmade note.

Supplies Used

Step 1: Create the Card Base

Cut Cougar White Smooth CardStock to 5 1/2 x 11 inches. Score at 5 1/2 inches and fold to form a top fold 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch square card base.

Trim a piece of Lessebo Hunter Green Cardstock to 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches.

Cut Bright Foil Gold 10 pt Cardstock  to 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 inches

Another piece of Cougar White Smooth CardStock is cut to 5 1/8 x 5 1/8 inches.

Adhere the gold panel to the green mat, then attach both to the white card base.

Step 2: Die Cut the Foliage

Die cut the leafy elements multiple times using different shades of green cardstock. Mixing tones adds dimension and keeps the wreath from looking flat.

For extra elegance, die cut the small berry accents from Bright Foil Gold 10 pt Cardstock .

Step 3: Build the Wreath

Trace a circle onto the 5 1/8 x 5 1/8 inch piece of white cardstock as a wreath template. I used a circle die.

Lightly arrange the leaves in a circular wreath shape on the white panel before gluing. Once you’re happy with the layout, adhere the leaves one at a time, slightly overlapping them to create fullness.

Tuck the gold berry accents throughout the wreath for subtle shine and detail.

Step 4: Add the Sentiment

Die cut the “Thank You” sentiment from gold cardstock.

Adhere the sentiment to the center of the wreath. Add this panel to the card base

Step 5: Finishing Touches

Scatter a few green gems or sequins around the wreath to balance the design and add a soft sparkle. Keep embellishments minimal so the foliage remains the focal point.

Final Thoughts

This card design is easy to customize by changing the color palette or sentiment. Try soft pastels for spring, rich jewel tones for fall, or silver accents for winter projects.

Card Assembly Instructions

Step 1: Create the Card Base

Start with a 5 x 6 1/2 inch card base using white cardstock. Layer a piece of 5 x 6 1/2 inch black cardstock onto the base.

Step 2: Stamping

Trim a white panel to 4 3/4 x 6 1/4 inches. Stamp a border using one of the small stamps from the Meowentine Stamp set. Color in the tiny hearts with a marker.

Stamp the sentiment from the stamp set, on the upper left part of the white panel.

Adhere the panel onto the card.

Step 3: Add the Patterned Paper Sections

From The Cat’s Meow Paper Pack, select several heart-themed patterns.

  • Cut one piece on a diagonal. Add a strip of black cardstock along the diagonal side. Adhere to the left side of the card.
  • Add a coordinating patterned strip horizontally across the lower portion of the card that is matted with black cardstock.

Step 4: Create the Banner Detail

Die cut 3 banners using the Banner Die Set. One is cut from patterned paper, one from red cardstock and one from black. Layer them slightly offset and adhere them toward the upper right of the card for added vertical interest.

Step 5: Make the Focal Image

Stamp and color the sweet kitty image. Die cut with a stitched circle die.
Layer it onto a scalloped circle created with the Scalloped Circle Die, using red cardstock for a bold pop of color. Mat the scallop circle die cut with a red stitched circle. Adhere the layered circle with foam tape near the lower right corner, overlapping the patterned paper sections.

Step 6: Embellish

Finish the card by adding a few gems from the Red Hot Rhinestone Mix around the sentiment and focal area for sparkle and dimension.

This design is a great way to showcase patterned paper while still keeping the card clean and balanced. The mix of bold black borders, playful hearts, and an adorable kitty makes it perfect for Valentine’s Day—or any cat lover who deserves a little extra love.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope this Happy Meowentine’s Day card inspires you to pull out your Pajama Crafter Stamps supplies and create something sweet.
