Mother's Day Card #2

It's a dark and dreary, rainy day.  You know, one of those when it's good to be in the craft
room creating.  I have a Mother's Day card I created with the inspiration from 2 challenges.
I used the color combination from Color Throwdown and the sketch from Seize the Sketch.

I used a Stampendous stamp called "Flower Field" and colored it with Spectrum Noir
markers. I cut the image in an oval shape and used the Spellbinders lacy ovals die as the
frame. The dot embssoing folder I used is from Cuttlebug and the other is a Paper
Studio folder. The butterflies were punched with a Fiskars punch and the sentiment was
computer generated and die cut with a Taylored Expressions label die. I finished up with
pearls. Thanks for taking a look!

 Photo Inspiration

Fun and cute cards are not usually the style I do when making my cards but when I
saw the photo inspiration challenge over at Just Us Girls for this week  that's the
style that jumped out at me. I will also link up to Seize the Birthday where anything
goes this week.

I knew I wanted to use paper from the DCWV's Birthday Wishes Stack, but had a
hard time trying to figure out what to do with it. I decided on a sketch and took it
from there. When I put together the balloon print panel I knew I had to find
something to put on it as it was pretty plain without anything. I started digging
through some stickers I've had for a very long time and came upon a set of this
cute little paper doll.  I placed her on white cards stock and fussy cut her out and
did the same with the balloon and popped them with foam tape. I die cut some
banners and stamped the greeting. I think I like the way it turned out. Thanks for
taking a look!

Christmas Glitter

Yep, I'm still making Christmas cards. There's a stash challenge that is all about glitter
at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown. Who doesn't like glitter?  Here is what I came
up with.

I think I took the easy way out by using glitter card stock and glitter stickers. It's not as
messy that way too! I've had all the elements I used in my "stash"for quite some time.
In fact I have so much stuff in my stash that I forget what I have. I'm sure I'm not alone
there, right? Anyway, as usual, thanks for taking a look!

HOC Sketch Challenge

It's time for another sketch challenge at House of Cards. The next two weeks we ask that
you create cards using the given sketch and apply either a CAS or Classic & Elegant style.

Here's the sketch….

and my take on it.

I love this paper tole image from Hot Off the Press and the dimension the layering gives.
The printed paper is also from Hot Off the Press. I punched the border with a
Martha Stewart punch and added some tiny pearls. The sentiment is from a stamp set
called "Orchid Greetings".  Now hop on over to House of Cards and check out the
inspiration from the rest of the CAS & Classic & Elegant design team and then link up
your own creation. Thanks for taking a look!

It's Your Day!

I'm back for a second post today.  This time I have a card for the Just Us Girls color
challenge.  Orange and blue aren't usually colors I would use for  a card but thought
I would give it a try. Now that I think about it this one would probably be great for
one of my co-worker's birthday card. She's a huge Broncos fan and does love the
color orange.

I started out by stamping the floral image with a stamp from the Inkadinkado Modern
Flower Flourish set. Then I die cut the oval with a Sizzix framelits die. I added the orange
Prima paper flowers and added jewels. I embossed the white  background panel with a
Cuttlebug embossing folder.  Cut banners and stamped the sentiment using the Birthday
Greetings stamp set from Hot Off the Press.  Thanks for taking a look!

12 Days of Christmas

This weeks Christmas card was created using the theme challenge over at
52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown.  The theme is "12 Days of Christmas". This was
not an easy one for me. But here's what I came up with. I think it fits the theme
pretty well. I see that this card also fits the theme at the Sparkles Christmas Challenge,
which is "Inspired by a Song".

So, I thought I would come back and add that the word panel I used on this card was
found when I did a search for 12 Days of Christmas free digital images.  It came from
galleryhip.com.  The bird is an acetate die cut from K & Company and I punched the
pine fronds with a Martha Stewart punch. Thanks so much for taking a look!

Watercolor Birthday

I wanted to give the technique challenge over at Just Us Girls a try.  The technique
is to create a water colored background. This is yet another technique I've never tried
before now. I decided to combine this technique challenge with the color challenge
at Dynamic Duos and the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  I'm also
linking up to Seize the Birthday, without the toppings option. This is what
I ended up with. Thanks for taking a look!

52 CCT Color Challenge

I've not been able to do much card making this weekend.  But, I did manage to get my
Christmas  card for the week done. My inspiration came from the color challenge at
52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown.

I chose the blues to work with as blue is my most favorite color. I used the Memory Box
Glowing Candles and Spellbinders Floral Ovals dies. Finished up with some pearls and
there you are! Thanks for taking a look!

Bold & Cheery Birthday

I wanted to play along with 3 of my favorite challenges this weekend so I decided to
combine them.  I took the sketch from Just Us Girls and the colors combination from
Dynamic Duos and since it's a birthday card it works for Seize the Birthday where
there is a toppings option of buttons or rhinestones.

Thanks for taking a look!

Christmas Card of the Week

Managed to get my Christmas card for this week done.  I pondered over it most of the day
and finally just decided to go with it!  52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown has a sketch
challenge this week, which is what I used for inspiration.

This is the sketch…

and my take on it.

Thanks for taking a look!

Easter Tulips

Someone asked me the other day if I had any Easter cards. I had to say "no, but I can
make some".  So I have the first one here. I thought I would take the opportunity to
make it fit a couple of challenges. So, I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches
and the color combination from Color Throwdown.

The vase of tulips image is a free digital stamp from birds cards.com. I colored it with
smooch ink and spectrum noir pens, fussy cut it and popped it with foam tape on the
dry embossed panel. I computer generated the greeting, punched a butterfly and
added pearls. Thanks for taking a look!
