Back to School

Time for a new challenge at

The theme is
"Back to School".

Using Library Fairy from our sponsors this week

I created an altered notebook cover.
The background was done with torn card stock
that was pieced together mosaic style.
I brushed ink in 2 colors over the background
just to tone the colors down a little.
The teal colored card stock the fairy is attached to
was embossed and the clipboards were cut from
printed card stock.  A chipboard key was added.
I colored the image with pencils.

We hope to see your  Back to School projects at

Cute As A Button August Inspiration

Hi all!

Today I'm on the
sharing an altered notebook I created using

I gathered my materials.
A Composition Notebook
Solid card stock
Autumn themed DP
The image which I colored with pencils

Next, I covered the notebook cover with the card stock & DP.

I fussy cut the image and gathered some embellishments.,
3 leaf shaped buttons from my stash
Lawn Fawn wood word (Story)
A strip of card stock

I adhered the embellishments above and ended up adding
some washi tape on the top on bottom of the card stock strip
and thought a little something else was needed, so added sequins.
Finished product

I used some texture paste and a stencil for a little more texture.
I dry embossed & inked 3 die cut circles.
My embellishments are dazzles stickers.

Aug/Sept Challenge at MHKDesigns

It's time for a new challenge at

Just like every month, we have a prompt
for you to use as inspiration
unless you use something from
MHKDesigns. In that case you can go with
Anything Goes.

Here's the prompt.
Use colors and/or photo

My project is a mixed media canvas

I started by adhering crumpled tissue paper with gel medium
to the 10" x 10" canvas to give texture.
I used acrylic paints and metallic screen print ink
to cover the tissue paper.  I used gold metalIic ink on the edges.
The image was colored with pencils and fussy cut
and placed on a doily and die cut.
I added lace, chip board scrolls and paper flowers.

What will you be inspired to create?
We'd love for you to share with us at
MHKDesigns! You have until Sept. 15th!
